Needing to write this chapter has been weighing heavily on my mind for quite some time. How will Daniel react to the news of Cody’s death? Well, it’s pretty obvious. Like the rest of us, he would have been totally devestated, and I really don’t want to revisit those terrible days.

Daniel, like the rest of us, has to move on. But he will always treasure the memory of his buddy and be forever influenced by his friendship. Daniel will continue to carry the Cody flag.

So we can assume that B received the news of Cody’s death, shared it with Daniel, and that they supported each other during that dreadful and painful ordeal.

A reader also suggested that I write about Daniel meeting Mark. As you know, Mark is in the business of building yachts. He intends getting his skipper’s license and sailing yachts around the world to deliver them to their owners. The reader suggested that Mark sails to Tampa, where he will meet Daniel and his buds. It’ll be a good opportunity to write about Mark’s memories of Cody, and to share them with Daniel.

So there ya go. I’ve wussed out of writing about Daniel receiving news of Cody’s death. It’s taken me almost two years to deal with it myself, so I don’t wanna go back there. I’m sure Cody understands. And when I next write about Daniel, he will have had the time to come to terms with the tragedy himself. MrB
